Just wanting to get some feedback if anyone is using a retrofit in there hood. I have been thinking about purchasing the 70w retro from Aquabuys for my BC29. I would really prefer a sunpod but my wife dosn't want an open top. Am I going to have heating issues? I plan on upgrading the fan. Should I cut the lexan lense under the reflector and install glass? I also plan on retaining the PC's

Hey I do. I have been running this light since about when you posted and have had really great success. I modded an 80mm fan on the exit and am still running stock fan on intake. I also removed the lexan under the light and run glass. My temps run at around 80 and only fluctuate one degree. The trick is to figure out how hot you get with the light then adjust you heater to there so the bottom dosn't fall out when lights off.
