If you have tickets to fly Delta to Bonaire this summer on a Wednesday please verify that your tickets are still valid.

Long story short, a month ago we purchased Wednesday to Wednesday tickets from Atlanta to Bonaire and after calling Delta last night we found that the flights had been cancelled. Fortunately we were able to move the tickets to the Sat to Sat flight as those seem to be safe for now.

I cannot say I am surprised that they didn't bother to call or email us ...

Sorry to hear...I am curious though. Did they cancel the flight due to to fuel prices and why did you call them ? Just recently Delta cut back a lot of flights because of the high fuel prices and have made statements regarding the elimination of numerous routes that are not very profitable.

I am glad they are still flying there(Delta mainline that is instead of a connnetion), this is a great place for diving!

They wouldn't say why they were cancelling the Wednesday flights.

I decided to call after I read on the Bonaire Talk Forum that a lady had been told that her Wednesday flight in April had been cancelled. They had told her that they would only have Wed flights in July and August. Ours was in July but I wanted to double check. Sure enough, it was no longer showing as a valid flight when the Delta person looked it up.

Mine are on a Saturday...so I am good.

BTW, just got an email from my shop. Delta dropped the ticket price to $759!!! Down from almost $1200...woohoo!
