Please consider adding *email contact* ability to your profile. Some members don't allow contact by email, but it can be really handy when the site is down.

Here's what I discovered today (and maybe everyone else knows this):

Even when the site was down, I could access the membership page by going to

http://atlantareefclub.org/forums/memberlist.php. (I have this bookmarked.)

Although I could neither read nor post anything in the forum or send PM's, I could still pull up a profile and send an email. I tested this by going to my own profile and sending an email to myself -- it went through.

If you don't want to add a primary email for privacy/security reasons (understandable), you could always create a web email at Hotmail, Yahoo etc. for ARC purposes.

I was in the process of sending the final LA order calculations via email to the members who ordered, when the site came back up. If the site was down all day, this would be a handy way for me to get this information to you, but some of you don't have email enabled.

If anyone needs to get in touch with me when the site is down, please email. I check my ARC email account at least 3 times per day. Add me to your contact list.

Except that all pages, even the membership page, was only working sporatically, and differently for different people. All pages on this site use the database. When the database goes down, every page goes down.
