My fiance's boss has to give up her 2 year old Great Dane/Lab Mix. She doesnt have the time to care for it as she just recently had another baby. The dog needs a loving family with a fenced in back yard. This dog has alot of energy and is very sweet. I was told it gets along with cats. The dog has never lived with any other dogs but from what I was told gets along with other dogs. I have personally met the dog and was a little shy at first to new people especially men. It sooned warmed up to me and wouldnt leave my side while visiting. If you are intereted you can contact the owner of the dog at 678-656-3858 ask for Danielle. She just needs kennal cough shot that is all she is due for. She has a chip, she is house broken. She does have a crate for her. She is asking $50 for the crate but I bet you could talk her into throwing in the crate for free. She said she would be willing to deliver the dog. She has contacted shelters and most of them will only take smaller dogs and all others are kill shelters. Please if anyone knows of someone looking for a dog please have them contact the owner. Also still looking for a new home for the English Bulldog I posted a little while back.

Maybe it's not the pic?

Maybe the dog is genetically blurry???

Good point ... our black lab is blurry most of the time.

photo tip for you if you can on the camera you are using bump up the contrast and exposure by.3 that should help with the blurry.

For those who end up taking the dog and giving it a home that is deserves I will throw in some frags. I think kind hearts should get a little something extra. Same goes for the english bulldog which is still available.

All right people I am going to sweeten the deal. For anyone who helps me find a loving family that will take care of this dog for the rest of its life and not take it to a shelter a week, month, year later I will be glad to give you my pair of Rod's Onyx Clown fish. Because if no one adopts her she will just end up in a shelter and I really dont want that. I would take her but I cant because of my living situation. As for the bulldog the same goes but I will give you my 12gal nano cube with stand. So please if you cant adopt, help me find someone who will give these dogs the best.

This is a very generous offer and you're certainly going above and beyond the call of duty as an animal lover.

I hope this animal finds a home because if he goes to a shelter (the lab mix), he is almost sure to be euthanized. A dog that goes to a shelter as a picked up stray usually has a reprieve of 7 days in which to find an adoptive home before it's put down, since the shelter must give time for an owner to claim the dog. On the other hand, an owner-surrender dog has only 3 days before being destroyed. And the big dogs... the shepherd and lab mixes are almost never adopted. It's the small dogs people go to the shelter and adopt.

Makes me so sad that someone would give away a family member because it has been squeezed out of its place in the home due to incoming family members, changes of lifestye or living arrangements.

If only people would think before taking on the responsibility of a pet and ask themselves: "What could possibly change in my life that would cause me to give up this responsibility? Do I plan to have children? Do I plan to move into an appartment that does not allow pets? How big will this dog get and can I manage a big dog?" When in doubt, best not to get a pet rather than view an animal as an *inconvenience* that can be easily disposed of down the road.

I'd love to take this animal, but I'm already maxed out, having already taken on too many of someone else's *disposable inconveniences* already.

Someone, please give these deserving dogs a good home.

Do you have a pic of the english bulldog? My friend has one and I'll see if she wants another.

can they live out doors most of the warm season, with shade of course?
my dad said we can get a dog if they can live outside most of the time and then in the house.

Why would you get a dog if you would then banish it to the back yard 99% of the time? And what would you do for the *cold season.*?

Dogs, especially the labs, are gregarious *people animals*. The biggest discomfort a dog will feel if out in the yard is not sun, rain or snow. It's intense loneliness. The Atlanta Dog Squad (lab rescue) as well as most other reputable dog rescue groups that prescreen applicants require *indoor homes only.*

Danes should not be left outside that amount of time...to much strain on the heart...
