The pods are $20 per bottle and we still have plenty in the store with about 10 bottles that just came in late last week.

They are GREAT! I could actually see them in the bottles and they were busy little fellows. I hope they make many more! Thanks for bringing them to the meeting Chris!

Here is a question from one that doesn't know.

Are Tigger-Pods the same as Copepods?

They are copepods. Glad to be of service Bonnie. And it was really great to meet you the other night.

That is the good thing about these little guys. They are definitely alive and every bottle is full of 'em!

So what do you do just dump them into your refugium and hope for the best?

Some people do that and they have great success. These guys are really hardy so they just burrow down into the Macro Algae and go wild. Others will keep them refrigerated for a week or so to use as a food source for your finicky eaters.

Will they reproduce if you have them in a refugium?

Just like other copepods, they sure will.

That's what I thought, then they become a part of the eco-system and a sustainable food source...

I went out on Friday and went by your place. Wonderful store - wonderful service. Ended up getting the Tigger Pods and yes, you could *see* those buggers a swimming away. Even picked up a beautiful Tomini Tang and a bottle of Phyto Feast. Prices are very reasonable and Chris has a lot of corals and fish that are not very common.

Will mandarins eat these type of copepods or are they too big?

I bought some tigger pods a few years ago and they are a great product. I bought a mandarin before I did my research and I bought a bottle of these guys and he ate them up and even grew to be huge. If you have a fug these are great to seed it and if not you can even grow your own in a stand alone fug which is what I did when I had the mandarin. Im very glad to see a local store carrying these guys.

Your SeaHorses will gladly eat pods, but as you say, mysis are bigger and better.

We only have 2 bottles left, lmk if you want to drop by and pick them up, or one to try in the mean time before the mysis come in! We are located very convenient to 85/285... map is at www.einsteinaquatics.com

Also, we will have live enriched mysis shrimp coming in on this order! May be end of this week, or may be early next week!

One thing I have read is that for people who are trying to culture pods for their critters, the Tigger pods culture very well, and seem to be big enough to avoid contamination.

Sure can, they are Tigriopus califoricus. Your pipefish should love these guys!
