In the final decision phase of buying my next car and about settled on an 06 325i fully loaded.

I know how some guys are about asking for help, but with a phone call i can help you save 1,000's just let me know. Yeah, i actually call the dealer and work them a little. so you would still buy from a bmw dealer. Market on bmw is strong so i can def. help.;)

I have an '03 M3 (not exactly the same), but I have driven an E46 325 and 330. They're the best handling, most nimble cars you'll find for the money. The M3 is just all of that x100 with an 8K redline.

As for resources, try looking through these news groups. They've been invaluable to me for information on my car. In your case, if you buy from a dealer, you'll have that as a resource, but mine came off warranty 2K after I got it:

I have a 530i and a Z4. Have nothing bad thing to say. It's a great and fun car to drive. I prefer the 5 over the z because it ride better.

The gay list is lame... I would have to say most people that own a jeep aren't gay, even if gay people do own jeeps.

There is a BMW track at Greenville, SC that you can take a spin on. I never been on the track but a customer of mine told me about it. I didn't realize this until I bought the two cars that some of these people are fanatic about the BMWs. Like this customer of mine, they own a 7 serie and also an 8 serie as well. They had it brought over from Europe on the 8 serie. I didn't know they made 8 series lol. There is club that you can join and meet. It's too much for me.

The M series of the cars are turly some of the best handling most awesome street cars on the road (and not too shabby on the track, either!)

That's an excellent deal, Kevin. Especially in this town and with BMW dealers not having factory holdback. Priced with those options, it's in the upper 30's for that car new and 12K miles is on the low end (though typical for the insanely low mileage leases BMW does).

gwen please do some more research before you downgrade anyones car. As we "car people" all know that ford taking over Jaguar wasnt exactly bad. All they did was improve them, not downgrade them, if anything jaguar benfited from ford taking them over, and that doesnt mean that the engine in my jag is a ford motor, the only thing ford did was improve their electronics. the only car companys ford really has a say in is Mercury and lincoln. Oh and kevin congrats on your buy, beemers are top notch, just stating my opinion.

I've drove the majority of cars on the road and have plenty of experience when it comes to which cars can take a beating and which can't. The more bells and whistles, the more problems in many cases. But I'm clueless when it comes to motors and such.

I actually used to rent cars over at the Jag dealership in Roswell.... so when we showed up with a non-jag rental, many times the customer would say, "oh I thought I'd get a jag" (the dealership has a loaner program and would sometimes run out and that's where we came in) and then we'd always joke, "all our jags are in the shop like yours" ...... we never said it to the customer....
