View Full Version : I would gladly give......
up my new room for my daughter back...
Ok...now that you saw the title...It was only a matter of time, even though circumstances were ALL WRONG that my oldest moved out of the nest.
Hence...I room is available. So this week it gets emptied, painted a pale gray (to match a black stand) Pictures of my corals and tanks on the wall....
I officially have a fish room....Dont get me wrong, if she came back tomorrow Id be happier!!!!
Ill get pics together when I start the project...
Cameron 02-18-2008, 6:12 PM Fish room or kid... so would go with the fish room. Congrats on the new space and hope you enjoy it. Course the downside is you are swapping one expensive hobby for another.
Linda Lee 02-18-2008, 7:01 PM Take it from someone whose daughter *moved out* about a half-dozen times....
"As soon as you remodel their room, they move back"
LiveRock27 02-18-2008, 7:31 PM My Dad turned my old basement room into a bar with a nice pool table and hardwood floors when I went away to college. 4 years later he had to move everything into storage when I moved back in. My dad has just decided to set back up everything since I have a mortgage now and he is pretty sure that I won't be coming back.
Barbara 02-18-2008, 11:45 PM Russ, are you going to walk around naked in the "fish room" like Terry Bradshaw did in that movie where he hired some chick to make his son move out? (Don't remember the name of the movie, but Terry sure put aquarium hobbyists in the light with his "fish room" in that movie.)
Reefkeeper 02-19-2008, 12:04 AM Hey Russ, can I move in the room? when the wife kicks my A@# out for buying a bigger tank. I'm a good cook and I clean bathrooms. LOL!!
I cook...but you can do the bathrooms :)

Barbara 02-19-2008, 9:24 AM Russ, Lee called it. It's called "failure to launch". It's a funny movie about a son who won't move out. His parents hire a girl to make him fall for her so that he'll move out and they can convert his room to Terry's "fish room". It's light hearted. I think you should watch it. It'll give you something to laugh about anyway.
My oldest is going to go off to college in the fall. She has chosen UGA, so she won't be able to live at home. (I know for a fact she chose them over Tech specifically so she wouldn't have to live at home, but I can understand that from a 17 year old.) Anyway, she's been one of my best friends and certainly my little buddy, especially lately as she matures and realizes I'm not that bad. I'm going to be in the same boat as you soon, and I am not looking forward to it. Good luck buddy!

I could handle that more than running off with what I consider a total loser.
