Raj, the picture doesn't do justice. After seeing your tank in person, it's absolutely awesome. I talk about your tank to people all the time. When your done with the canopy, you should be on the list of tour of tanks. ARC members will be extremely impressed.

Raj, what happened with the Mako?... Is that an MRC?

Now that is a reef tank! I guess I will have to be happy with my nano 125g.

Kick butt skimmer too... give us some details on it. Inquiring minds want to know.

Raj, what happened with the Mako?... Is that an MRC?

Big D

Can't run the Mako yet (no room!); I have to rework my sump and such.

Na, it's not an MRC. It was built by Aquarium Specialty, back when everyone was using 8" or smaller tubing. It has 2 10" diameter risers and 4 becketts. It's currently being pushed by a sequence hammerhead. It was designed in tandem with sequence; based on their specs and such, to maximize efficiency.

Trihn, stop by anytime! Everyone is welcome over actually, well, almost everyone :)

This is the stand in construction. The legs are anchored to the floor in the basement; they run up, through the ceiling/floor and into the main room!

Thats a helluva stand Raj. Have you got your skimmer yet from Brett? Is he waiting to build yours?

Skriz

James- I was thinking of having Brett build a dual chambered skimmer that will be fed with a needle-wheel hammerhead!

Sump. My neighbor came over while they were delivering the sump and tank. He came into the room and saw the sump on the floor and goes "man, that's a big tank!" :lol2:

I wish the stand was taller, thus giving me more head room. There is not enough room to get anything out of the sump; I'm locked in! If I were to do it again, I would do the sump in the basement-it would take a little room down there, but would end up being cheaper and easier.

What size is the sump?I am still debating on My sump and fuge setup plans.I was thinking of maybe 2 125`s.1 as a sump and the other as a fuge with a dsb.

Skriz
02-05-2008, 11:14 PM
it's a 125. I would definately advise a much larger sump.

If you're going to use an in-sump skimmer, you'll want a larger sump. Having 2 is a good idea though.

I can help you out with some FTS if I ever get invited to come over there..... :)

That tank is hard core - not many people can say that their tank legs go through the first floor and to the basement. I'm still lost as to why you didn't go with a basement sump setup?

:) You're more than welcome to come by. I'm still embarrased with the lack of cool stuff in the tank though

As far as the basement, I wanted to build a bar with a pool table and stuff. I didn't want to lose the space. BAD IDEA! I'll probably end up re-doing things and building a fish room in the basement.

As far as the tank legs-I had a structural engineer draw up the plans; how cool is that? :D

Dude, get yourself a tripod and your camera should take fine pictures. Maybe not perfect but good enough, in my opinion! :)

If you don't want to dish out money for the tripod, get a stool and then stack books on top of it until you can set the camera on top to take a level picture!

Either way, we want some more shots!!! Even if it's not a FTS... Maybe a HTS. ;)

He ended up in the emergency room after his wife found him trying to climb out of the tank. Most of his livestock was wiped out because of this and he's still recovering...
