I'm getting a lot of PM's about membership and membership cards. I would also suggest that maybe volunteers could add their position (i.e., "2008 Membership Co-Ordinator") to their profile and/or signature to make them more visible to members.
If the main page cannot be updated right away, can we post the names of volunteers here for the time being? Or could current volunteers respond to this thread identifying themselves so I can point people to this thread when I receive PM's? I think this would be helpful.
