View Full Version : Best Deals in Metro Atlanta
way2real316@hotmail.com 09-10-2006, 11:43 PM Hey guys been lurking around the board for awhile. I been checking out lfs store in the area and noticed a huge diff in prices. Im looking for the best deal on fish. Im currently looking for a set of true percula clowns.
gwen_o_lyn 09-11-2006, 12:01 AM Welcome to the forums.
To me the best deals are the fish you know aren't caught with cyanide poisoning. Using cyanide allows for more fish to be caught, and better prices.
I have purchased all my fish from Imagine Ocean and never had any problems. I feel I have gotten a good deal since the fish don't die after a few months.
burdundi 09-11-2006, 9:49 AM I agree with Gwen. I think it is worth it to pay a little extra and buy from a trusted LFS. There are several good ones in the ATL area as well.
I also get my fish from Imagine Ocean as well. Never had a problem. They were the first LFS I watched not sell a fish to someone because they wanted to make sure the fish ate before they sold it. Another good sign of a trustworthy LFS.
Hope that helps.
Andy
theplatypus 09-11-2006, 6:06 PM Cappuchino Bay and Imagine Ocean are the only stores in the area that will get my business these days. Although Poseiden's Reef seems to have potential. Too bad it is an hours drive for me.
SCSInet 09-27-2006, 5:52 PM I visited Poseidon's this past Saturday. The drive stinks but it does look pretty nice.
I didn't see all their fish pricing, but if this is any indication.. they sold me a changing Koran for 50 bucks... hard to beat that.
WOLFIE 09-27-2006, 7:41 PM Nemo fish had not done me wrong. Infact they hook me up with an Outer Orbit w/t5 for less then I would had paid on ebay.
I'll be getting an 75 GL RR with stank from them next week also. You wouldn't belive the price I paid for it. Let just say it less then the price for a use 1 :D.
There ae 8 fish in my 72 BF right 1 ranching from 1 month to 1 years old and all are healthy and active.
As of now. I go to Nemo if I am looking for fish and Poseidon's for corals
kappaknight 09-27-2006, 9:08 PM I'm not sure if this is true, but I think most of the local stores get their common fishes from the same local supplier Sunpet. If that's the case, you can get fish for cheap from Pet Supplies Surplus in Midtown near Fat Matt's.
I managed to get two clowns for $4/ piece. You can also order any fish through them that Sunpet has available on their website.
KuLLaS 09-27-2006, 9:19 PM I use Imagine Ocean has some of the best prices and not to mention that they are the closest to me :)
Where is Pet Supply Surplus? I may check them out for those prices
Spike 09-27-2006, 10:12 PM Every fish I have bought from nemo has lived and for corals poseiden has good prices and quality
atlfishes 09-28-2006, 9:46 AM Kappa,
Doesn't the Pet Supplies Surplus just carry supplies and freshwater or am I thinking of something else? Can you explain in greater detail how to buy from them? Thanks
Zanski 10-03-2006, 2:45 PM I love imagine ocean. She is so nice, she wouldnt let me buy a fish for ever cause i was cycling my tank. She actually cares! Has anyone been to Pet Land in Kennesaw by Town Center Mall? They have aptasia everywhere! :( Some were even 6 inches long. I like cappuccino bay for my coral selection aswell. I'm 6 months new to this hobby any other nice places around atlanta??

It is on Piedmont just past Fat Matts. If you're driving away from Ansley towards butthead it will be on the right.
KuLLaS 10-05-2006, 12:19 AM will they sell to the public or wholesale only?
