Ok so I got an ozone a while back and had it going in the venturi on my deltec but it KILLED the skimming ability. I figured that my deltec was better at full efficiency than that doing crappy and the ozone making the water clearer. What are other safe ways to inject ozone and inexpensive is preferred. Thanks in advance.

I lik e the way Randy Holmes uses it. He runs it into a coil of tubeing via a venturi. The coil is about 50 feet in lenth if memory serves me. the coil is lying flat and discharges into carbon.
I dont like to use it in skimmers ether unless i have 2 skimmers on a system.
I am not really following you. Can you explain it again?

Its like a coil 3/8 dia RO type tubing. it is just lying flat on a table. he pumps water into one end there is a Tee fitting/venturi were the ozone is introduced. they travel at a slow rate together the entire length of the coil then dumps into the sump via a carbon cup. simple and good. It allows for some good interface between the ozone and water.
I saw this the other day.....the 'coil' system is in here....

I'd ask Randy Homes for exact lengths of hose... you would have to adjust things for your tank size, desired flow rate, and the amont of Ozone you want to use.

LOL or you can use that GREAT link of Geehh's.
Thanks Geehh i was unaware of this article:thumbs:
I dont really have the space to have that much tubing. Got any other ideas?

Two skimmers is the next best option that i can think of. One for ozone one without.
What room do you have to work with? what size tank?

Ozone reactor or second skimmer. Doesn't have to be particularly larger or expensive. A Seaclone or even an air driven skimmer would serve the purpose.
Would this one work? I have a 90 gallon tank and have VERY little free space.

I think 3/8" tubing would be better than 3/4". If you don't mind less flowtru = less water processed. The smaller dia would mean better interface. So I'm thinking the length of tubing would only have to be 1/3 as long to get the same interface (really i need to do the math before making that assumption).
So maybe tie strap the coil together and attach it the underside of the tank. Just throwing ideas out there.

 maybe

dont run the ozone 24/7. Just run it once a week or so for a while. Then you'll get good skimming the majority of the time.

Another good idea... wish that rep button was still around.

Very good idea and if I wasnt also a little concerned with putting ozone though something that expensive and not know if it will cause future problems then I would. I just want something that dosent even involve it touching any of the tubing or part of my skimmer.
