Is there enough room on the site to add albums? It would be fun to have these for ARC events (holiday dinner... BBQ... whitewater rafting trips... ARC dog park days, etc.).

We have a lot of photobugs here and could put up some pretty good albums.

Has this ever been considered?

I think it would be great to have a coordinator that controls the thread. No posts, no comments...

If theres an outing, an ARC function...Pictures with a short story about the function and pictures added to that album.

Pics would be sent to a specific individual or photobucket to get accessed and an email about the function.

I would even be up for the job...sounds lilke fun and I could do ay home or work...

Then each album is just filled with pictures. And this is important: each picture has a caption. (Bugs me to look through an album and wonder what/who that is.)

Yes! Could have a link below each picture that says *comments*. I've seen this in galleries/albums before.

[_] Add comment. "This picture has received ______ comments."

The link takes you to another page so the album remains uncluttered.

Just an update on this.

I've installed a Photo Album mod (called PhotoPlog) on my test environment and am working out the kinks. I'll probably ask the BoD for a volunteer to organize the content and be our photo-librarian (if someone is willing) before rolling this into production.

So we are close.

Photo Album installed!

I'm going to get a list of categories from Russ so we can get this going.

We have a working model of the Photo Album up. You can access it by clicking the link at the top of the screen called 'Gallery'.

We are still working out permissions and process, hopefully we'll have that worked out very soon.

But go ahead and take a look. I've posted some pics from the meeting.

Let me know what you think about the categories. Russ is the coordinator for this section and has some thoughts on those as well.

Just an FYI, I'm going to open this up for Members to post pictures.

The maximum size for pictures is 500k, I try to size mine within the 800x600 range and they fit okay.

Until we get a sense of disk impact, I'm going to set the number of photos aloud for members to 200. I honestly don't expect most folks to post that many, but we'll see how that goes. This is of course subject to change.

I hope folks can start posting ID pictures...maybe some copepods :-)
