View Full Version : Camera for sale
wbholwell 12-31-2007, 1:22 PM I got a new Rebel XTi for Christmas, so my old camera is up for sale. It's a black Panasonic Lumix FZ30 in perfect condition. Includes UV filter, 1GB SD card, lens hood, extra battery and battery charger.
The best feature of this camera is the Leica 12x optical zoom lens with macro capability and image stabilization. Takes pretty darn good photos of a reef tank!
Please make an offer if interested.

Thanks, but now I've got to find a way to finance the lenses I want! (I just ordered the 430EX flash  )
wbholwell 12-31-2007, 1:43 PM If you'd like to see some photos that I've taken with the camera, here is a link to my honeymoon picture album:

Note: the underwater / watersports shots were taken with a disposable camera.
pfritzbelly 12-31-2007, 4:00 PM I have been using a Panasonic FZ-20, which also has the 12x OPTICAL zoom and the OIS features that he mentioned.
The camera will let you set just about anything you want in manual mode, which makes it a great camera for learning before dropping a lot more money and entering the true digital SLR arena.
If you are considering taking up photography and want to see if you have an aptitude for it, the FZs are GREAT entry-level cameras.
I have included a sampling of softy pictures that I tool recently, through-the-glass with only tank-lighting. The 12x optical zoom makes for great closeups when NOT using the camera's macro mode.
I don't have any of the non-aquarium pics that I have taken with me, or I'd post a few of them as well.

Atlanta Aquarium 12-31-2007, 4:05 PM Nice shot.
pfritzbelly 12-31-2007, 4:13 PM Bryan,
I love this camera. The auto/manual/semi-manual focus features are superb. I ordered a remote shutter release from eBay for <$15 and picked up a tripod and I have taken some fantastic pictures. Of course, the timer also works very well if you don't have a remote.
Rit,
Anything look familiar? The yellows and the zoas were the ones I got from you. I would say they have made the adjustment well. Believe me, compared to your mini-reef, they are slumming it these days!!

Yes, you have to say that- otherwise you'll feel like you paid too much for your Nikon and Nikkor lenses! ;)

wbholwell 01-03-2008, 4:55 PM I'm asking $280 for everything listed. I do have a potential buyer lined up, however (I'm allowing him to try the camera out first.)
