I hate to be a tattletale, but I went to two local fish stores this past week that wouldn't give me the ARC discount.
I went to Petland in Duluth, bought a small item and was told by the clerk that they no longer honor the ARC discount, but they would give me a 10% discount under their club. I hated the way she acted like she was doing me a favor.
On Sunday I went to Cappucino Bay and bought $55 worth of coral. The owner told me she couldn't give me the discount because the coral was "marked too low". What is that all about? I didn't see anything in the store indicating that no discounts could be applied to the items. I've spent about $400 on coral the past six months in the store, so consider myself a regular customer there... 10% is not a huge discount to honor!
I think club sponsors should have to honor whatever discounts they have pledged to club members, or the ARC should be able to re-evaluate them as "true" sponsors.
