Well, Welcome to the new year fellow reefers.. I hope Santa brought you everything you needed for your tank!

I know most of our new year's resolutions are to attend more ARC meetings!!! (Wait, I can't be the only one that made that resolution?!?) So here to help get the year off right, we would like to announce our first speaker of the year.....

<Drum Roll>

You have heard about our next speakers product all over Reef Central.....

You have seen the reported results in some of the European tanks we drool over....

This month the fine folks from Prodibio have offered to fly all the way from France to come speak to the ARC this month. Seriously, it has to be the furthest we have ever had a speaker come for a normal monthly meeting! So come on out and come loaded with questions for Dr. Nicolas Tiliacos, the president of Prodibio. If you are not aware of what Prodibio is or what it does for your tank, check out this link: http://www.prodibio.fr/anglais/accueil.htm or just do some searches over at RC or on google. This stuff is suppose to be amazing.

The meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 8th starting at 7:30pm. The location for this month will be at Steve Shindell's office. If you want to arrive early to trade frags and equipment, you are more then welcome to.

Directions to Steve Shindell's office building -

From I-75 South-bound:
Take Exit #255, West Paces Ferry and Northside Parkway. Turn left off the exit ramp. You will pass under I-75. Turn right at the first light onto Northside Parkway. Go to the second light, and turn right on Howell Mill Road. Go up the hill, and turn left on the first street, Downwood Circle. Go straight on Downwood Circle into the parking deck (all the way down the road). The building will be on your left.

From I-75 North-bound:
Take Exit #255, West Paces Ferry and Northside Parkway. Turn right off the exit onto Northside Parkway. Take an immediate right onto Howell Mill Road. Go up the hill, and turn left on the first street, Downwood Circle. Go straight on Downwood Circle into the parking deck (all the way down the road). The building will be on your left.

Ya, I am really excited about this meeting. I know A LOT of people have had questions about Prodibio products and to be able to ask the president of the company questions is what many people have been chomping at the bit to do. Ya'll have something to brag over a RC about getting to do. ;) I do not think Prodibio has ever spoken to a reef club in the US. It took about two months of back and forth conversations to get them over here from France. I have to thank Jeremy (JManypanda), as your new speaker coord, for all of his hard work. Without a doubt, he made this meeting happen.

Yes - Thank you Jeremy for stepping up to be our speaker coordinator! You and Brandon has done a great job on having the first speaker of the year to come over from France to speak about their products.

Bring her along! Maybe take her to dinner first at the OK Cafe (http://www.okcafe.com/) (near the meeting).

Looking forward to meeting you!

I would but the 8yr old and 4yr old don't do meeting to well, and no one will watch both at the same time if you know what I mean. They don't like each other some time, well most of the time.

I usually bring my 4 year-old. A leapster and a couple cars and they can have quiet time in the back. Works like a charm. (If not, I threaten to let cameron frag him up!)

The only problem with that is my 8yr old would want to see the 4yr old get fragged. This would lead to her doing things, and blaming it on him.

You call this less scary????? I hate to see what you think is scarey then. When I first saw this I started running out the door thinking that the bogey horseman was coming <lol>

All you have to do is bribe her with lots of chocolate fondue and that you'll pick up after yourself for an entire month without being requested to - that should work miracles.

But we'd love to have you there and even better, bring your better half with you to see what she's missing out on.

I'm making nametags this weekend.

PLEASE let me know a.s.a.p. if you want one so I'm not making these at the last minute, like last month. I love adrenaline, but that was a wee bit hectic!!

ALSO if you requested one last month, but didn't pick it up @ the meeting, it will still be available.

NOTE ~ ~ Funds for nametags come from the ARC budget, so the printed (reusable) name tags are for current ARC members. If you join at the meeting or shortly after, I will make sure you have one prepared by the next meeting. Currently, we will have temporary name tags available at the check-in table for you and your guests so we know who you are. I look forward to meeting you at the next meeting. Please make sure you introduce yourself so we can put a face with the name and welcome you properly.

=====================

[Trying to attach a file with a word.doc that lists tags requested for January, but keep getting an error. :(

I just found out that I can't make the meeting tonight -- are these meetings taped or transcribed in any way?

I learned so much from the meeting with the algae guy that I feel I got knowledge that will empower me for the rest of my reefkeeping career about algae and nutrients and how a eutrophic system works, and the seachem guy was really helpful as well.

So I am hoping there is some way to get the knowledge from the meeting -- maybe this has already been covered somewhere, but I saw from the Christmas meeting threads that a lot of people would love to come but can't.
