View Full Version : WTB/WTTF: Paintball Marker Set-up!
flyingarmy 12-26-2007, 4:00 PM My relatives are into paintball and I think it's time I joined in the fun. Does anyone have a full set-up out there that they are wanting to let go of for a good price or for some frags/equipment? Let me know what you have available. Definitely interested in a Tippmans from my research so far! Thanks for looking!
Jonathan 12-26-2007, 4:05 PM You won't regret it! I have been playing for a while on a scenario woodsball team and absolutely love it. Tippman is an excellent choice for woodsball style play. I would look at their A5 models.

FutureInterest 12-26-2007, 4:22 PM Man I used to do tourneys and stuff. Great fun. The equip I'd recommend would vary on what kind of paintball you're playing. Woodsball, scenario or speedball? I've got plenty of gear to equip you and your 4 closest friends lol.
flyingarmy 12-26-2007, 4:23 PM This is woodsball most definitely. What do you suggest?
Zanski 12-26-2007, 4:39 PM Airsoft all the way!!

I bought a few of those last year to play with them also. Now they are into paintball.:confused2:
leveldrummer 12-26-2007, 5:36 PM check out the spyder markers, for a cheap gun, they work flawlessly, and usually a bit lighter than most tipmans, (at least thats how it was when i used to play)
Roland Jacques 12-26-2007, 7:48 PM Tippman's are the ASM (skimmer) of paintball markers. Nothing fancy, Not a great performer, But they just work when you want them to.
Personally i want something a little faster the spyder sounds like good beginer choice it will shoot a good bit faster
George 12-28-2007, 7:30 PM Mark, I have a Tipman at home. I'll check on the model (it's not their bottom-of-the-line one, though), CO2, power feeder, and mod barrel.
I'm up in Virginia until the 2nd, but I'll PM you with the details when I get back.
flyingarmy 12-29-2007, 10:27 PM I picked up a Dragun TES package from Jin! Not only does this marker rock (being that the last one I used I think you had to cock each time) but Jin rocks for giving me such a great deal! Thanks Jin!
Zanski 12-30-2007, 12:29 AM WOW.... Me and a few buddies are watching the UFC fight right now and of course beer is involved and yes... The full Automatic electric airsofts juet got involved. Im ROCKED!! Bleeding everywhere lol still fun though hahaha
Cameron 12-30-2007, 3:30 PM I love Airsoft. I haven't played in two years, but prior to that I was playing almost every weekend. Still have several riffles and pistols.
Airsoft all the way!!! Paintball is its inferior cousin... yeah I am trying to start something you paintheads.
BeesBaby 12-30-2007, 4:51 PM Speaking of paintguns, several months ago I was driving along and a couple of stupid AH's thought it would be fun to shoot at passing cars and trucks on the road while they were driving. Needless to say, I wasn't too happy about it since they put a nice ding on my car, but fortunately I was able to wash the paint off.
But it can be fun for those that are responsible adults.

Paintball RULES over airsoft :bash:
FutureInterest 12-30-2007, 11:14 PM You can't rile me up! Especially, when I agree that Airsoft guns shoot faster, farther, are lighter, and more accurate. I've had tons of fun playing airsoft, but there just isn't the same following as you see with paintball. Primarily because paintball is considered more innocuous than airsoft which tries to conjure gentle images with its name. Also, if people were inherently honorable airsoft would be the way to go... Unfortunately we have to paint people to make them admit they're out :).
Anyways, thanks Mark for the frags! I love em. I found a better mask for you as well I'll bring it by shortly.
flyingarmy 12-31-2007, 12:38 AM Sweet Jin! Glad you liked the frags. Give me a ring when you want to stop by for the LR!

Very ture. That and somthings you can't feel a hit.
The best thing about airsoft is its far less expencive$$$. To me with my budget that the number one factor.
Cameron 12-31-2007, 2:21 AM I don't play with cheaters and even if it were paintball I wouldn't want to play with someone that needs paint to keep them honest. Sometimes you can't feel it which is true, but that is going to happen from time to time. Teflon heroes need not apply at one of my games.
Paintball is a quaint game, but it is hard to beat the airsoft scenarios especially when you limit weapon ammo to more realistic levels (as in no 5000 round clips that spray for days). I played paintball for a while, but was seduced by the more intricate game play of airsoft.
BTW, I have a 600fps G3 that I PROMISE you will feel if I tag you with it.
FutureInterest 12-31-2007, 2:43 AM Well that's the inherent nature of paintball. It keeps people honest whether they like it or not. It's a good thing.
Anyways, I feel the two games are so different in nature as to only be remotely comparable. At least they're both fun. We should get just an ARC group together sometime and go shoot each other up. We could solve disputes with old-fashioned duels. :)
Roland Jacques 12-31-2007, 3:02 AM Im in for a game of airsoft. I have not played airsoft much at all. I'd love to get my 2 boys out doing this. where do you go for airsoft games?
600 fps WOW. Is that Legal, or SAFE? my guns bearly hit 390 fps do i need to upgrade them to compete?
flyingarmy 12-31-2007, 11:34 AM I'd be up for either a ARC Airsoft or Paintball day! Great idea Jin...sounds like you can be the ARC Tactical Sports Coordinator!

600 fps WOW. Is that Legal, or SAFE? my guns bearly hit 390 fps do i need to upgrade them to compete?300-400fps is considered max in non-sniper rolls. Mine is meant to be a sniper rifle and is never used within 50ft of a target. Most places won't let you use 300fps within 10 feet of a target hence the need for a pistol. I pull the spring on the G3 sometimes to make it a support weapon... kinda like an M60 but then it only fires around 370fps.
Georgetown is probably my favorite place. Strategic Airsoft Command is pretty good as well. SAC is really cool and is designed for TacOps. CQB is what makes Airsoft more fun IMO. Paintball is nice, but nothing like sweeping a building for the enemy in a real life scenario.
