I've never fragged mushrooms, but I've gotten rics, zoas, and other polyps to attach to pebbles/rocks by superglueing the frag to substrate and placing them in a tall shot glass in in a low flow area of my tank. After a week, the coral is firmly attached. I never had to cover it.

Just make sure the shot glasses are clean first.

Fragging and attaching mushrooms should be very easy. When you frag mushrooms make sure you cut it through the center. I usually cut my Ricordea into 4 pieces (1/4 pie section each). To attach the mushroom to the rocks, the best way is to place the mushroom or frag in between the rock crevices. Within a few days, the mushroom will attach itself onto the rock and will extend itself from the rock crevice. If the mushroom keep falling out its place, then you may want to move it to a low waterflow area for a few days untill it attach itself to that rock. Another way to attach mushrooms to the rock (although I don't recommend it) is to superglue it. Mushroom tend to produce lots of slim or mucus and therefore will not stay glued 8 times out of 10. The best way is to let it attach itself naturally.

As for the zoos, it is best to superglue from my experiences.
