I bet man! So the idea of the store is kinda like a pawn shop for reefers? with a new equipment, fish, coral section? Pretty sweet idea...any online aspect or stricktly a lfs only?

yes sal, I hopefully am breaking down that tank near the end of the month. I'll shoot you a pm when I get it empty. It would be an ideal tank for an LFS! It has a unique stand as well. The first part of that was completely awesome because I thought you were going to open close to home. Then read the Ken part which just made it mostly awesome. Congrats and with your honest dealings I am sure it will be a huge success.

Count me in for a visit or two... or twelve. BTW, I think consignment is a great idea. Lots of us always have a few higher priced items to move and being able to drop off some equipment and have it at a store would be great.

het cameron,yes that is also the plan just trying to figure out layout for consignment coral hoping it catches on and becomes very busy,also nervus of being overwhelmed,and not enough space.will worry about that when and if the time comes.

Again very nice and a great idea. Start selling live mysis, white shrimp and/or enriched brine and I will be in heaven.

Kenesaw is probably a good location. I don't know of any specialized reef stores in the area. There are a couple in Canton and Marietta but none out there that I know of.

I think putting something out here is very savvy business strategy and Sal should do very well. The amount of commercial and residential development northwest of Atlanta is impressive. they are table coral, annce that was after 30 plus hrs no sleep,people complain about plumping 1 tank do 15 with 0 leaks.my butt is draggin near my ankles today i needed to sit down to get it back up where it belongs,but things are going well.

i have a suggestion that you guys could do to make you store even better- sell fish that have been in qt, raise the price the longer they have been in qt. also sell some fish that have not been in qt but in dif tanks.

people complain about plumping 1 tank do 15 with 0 leaks.

Congrats! You deserve a beer (and some sleep)! I plumbed my one tank twice and still have a leak...but it leaks into the sump so I just figure that it's an extra drain!

Well, i guess ill make a request as well. BULKHEADS all sizes , also loc line. They are not big sellers but its nice to go to an lfs that has everyhting your looking for.

Plastic gate valves.... sometimes you can get lucky and find them but I seem to need one every few months for myself or someone else.

Aquarium Specialties also carries it, but I have been waiting for near a month for the order to ship out and fear it will soon be cancelled.

Pods might be best to grow your own in a Pod tank, but there are some Pod farms out there. FloridaPets has them as do some other places like Saltwaterfish, but with shipping they aren't worth the price. I also like feeder shrimp. Pretty much any live food is on my list of things I would love to buy from an LFS.

I thought the idea for having little get-togethers at the store is a good idea. It seems like a nice way to make the store seem more friendly, get a client base, and recruit members for arc (although i am not yet one myself haha). I hate when I go to an lfs and the people act like im bothering them just by asking for help...

Oh also you know how marine fish gives out fish bucks when you spend so much money? I really liked that. It made me feel a little better about spending retail on my lights, lol.

we keep changing and and adding space for fish and inverts,as well as dry goods,and new and used equipment,tanks,at very good prices,also have large coral tanks.we will have clowns on hand.I've had bad service in many stores so customer service is #1, as well as quality stock.

When is this store opening??? I am one of the managers at the McAlisters Deli In Kennesaw but i live in fayetteville yes yes i know its a drive 5 days a week but i carpool with someone who goes to school up there.


Anyway i was thinking if you guys did a Gran Opening of some kind and were interested in getting food or u know gallons of sweet tea or drinks or just whatever i can probably work out some pretty good prices on stuff like that for a fellow ARC member.......(i will be a member soon haha) but yeah let me know when the store is opening and if your gonna be interested in having any type of food or drinks for your opening.

I second that the first shipment looks great. There were a few that were struggling but other than those few it looks pristine.

I was over there for a while yesterday and people aren't kidding when they say it is coming along nicely. It really is. And when sal says he has a lot of stuff he isn't kidding. ha

well today we conquered the last legal part,and now its balls to the walls for two weeks,tons of shipments coming,our coral tanks are in and were not looking back.We have located some sweet corals i think you all will like,some of this makes me want to set up a reef tank.

Either that or the Yellow Margin like you mentioned. Im going to ask Bob Fenner and see if he can tell me which one. Im leaning more towards the Yellow Margin.


A guy on RC seems to think that the eel is a Stout/Abbots Moray. or Gymnothorax eurostus which seems to be right on. Here is a pic of one I found by googling the name.
