It's that holiday season again and The Atlanta Reef Club will be hosting the December meeting/party this year at Dave and Busters in Marietta (http://www.daveandbusters.com/Locations/Default.aspx?Loc=126).

The party and food begins on Tuesday, December 18th at 7:00PM and will continue until 10:00PM

To help reduce costs and ensure the guest minimums are reached, we will be collecting $15.00 per person.
To reserve your spot, please click the following link to PayPal.
<Payment button removed>

We will have some amazing prizes/raffles this year including items from AquaBuys (http://www.aquabuys.com/), Tunze (http://www.tunze.com/), corals from Phillip Root at The Coral Gardens (http://www.thecoralgardens.com/mambo/index.php) and a Calcium Reactor from My Reef Creations (http://myreefcreations.com/)!!!

And then there was poor Charlie Brown all alone on Christmas night....wait, what do I hear??? I hear Linus and Pigpen, Franklin and Joey, and there's Lucy and Patti and Sally and Snoopy - they are a walking to Charlie to say Merry Christmas and come join the party at Dave and Busters - we hear tell that many of their friends from the ARC will be on hand to give each a whirl and to have a chance to win some great fish prizes. So Charlie breaks down in tears of happiness as he realizes that he does have friends and the true meaning of the season.

So on this note, count me in.

In order to make sure that we have enough food in the buffet, we'll need to get a good head count before the night of the party. Collecting the $15 per person gives us a solid count.
Also remember that we need to have final numbers into D&B by December 11th so please reserve your seat as early as possible.

That depends on how many people show up... They cover the tables for seating space if we need it. The space we reserved can seat up to 92 I believe (with tables covered). If we have the room to open then up then we definitely will. We won't know the chances until we start to get spots reserved through PayPal.

I'm gauging interest to see if anyone here is interested in a billiard/pool tournament. I will bring a moded Berlin XL skimmer to give out to the winner. I think everyone can donate a few bucks to help cover the cost of the table, and bring like a frag or something small to participate. The winner of will get first pick from the prizes and then 2nd, 3rd etc. gets their choice. This way everyone go home a winner.

Anyone interested??

I love the idea of doing this, but maybe on a different day? This meeting is going from 7:00 - 10:00 and a good portion of that will be the dinner. I used to be in a women's pool league and even a single-elimination tourney can take quite awhile.

Hope you can make it; however, D&B House Policies require that guests under the age of 21 must be accompanied by their parent or a guardian 25 years of age or older. So your dad would have to come with you and both of you would have to pay $15 each to attend.

As to don't have paypal, see Tony's reply to the thread (the one that has a screenshot attached to it) - it shows how to pay by credit card.

Yes, he can come. Tony's first posting states " ** A Member and their immediate family... Only one person in your party is required to be an ARC member. Total estimated costs to the ARC is ~$36 per person."

So since you are a member, you can bring your dad - you just got to pay for the both of you to attend.

Current headcount as of now is 22.

This link is not showing up on my screen. Probably blocked out by the filters here @ work, although I see the other links on this post.

Could a B.o.D. who has access to the club's Paypal account either send me an invoice (for 3 Holiday Dinners = $45 to linda.lowery@hotmail.com) or PM me the ARC paypal address? Is it treasurer@arc.org? I'd like to go ahead and take care of this.

Also, please remember to respond to the nametag post (http://www.atlantareefclub.org/forums/showthread.php?t=10063) if you want a nametag for this and subsequent meetings. Nametags will be available @ the party. I'll post a list soon of those requesting tags. There are some who posted things like *great idea*, but unless you said something indicating you want one made, you're not on the list. Also, remember that I'll be using whatever avatar you have on your profile unless you tell me otherwise.

See you on the 18th!

If you can view the PayNow button from home it would be easier to track internally that way. Otherwise two guests @$30 would look exactly the same as membership dues. Using the button enters it into the system as an invoice and looks different from within PayPal.

Just wanted to send out a note to all officers and BoD members - both current and upcoming - everyone has to pay the $15/person to come to the party. We're members, too, and D&B doesn't give us a break, so everyone needs to pay the same amount.

We're currently right at 60 people. If you haven't paid already, please get it in ASAP so we can give D&B the final count.

See everyone there!

...will not be able to guarantee there will be enough food available if you showup the night of without a reservation.

obviously, we'll do what we can for trying to add more food but Dave & Busters time requirements have already past. The process of taking the $15 reservation was to get a solid count of how many people would actually be there. We added a couple extra spots to cover ourselves but cannot afford to add 20extra spots at $36 each "just in case" then have only 3-4more people show up.
If we reach the limits and run out of food/space we will work with the D&B management the best we can when that time comes. That's something that is completely out of our hands and we will deal with it then (if needed).

I don't think it should be an issue George. Our space can handle up to 90 and worse case we can order more food from the menu. Like I mentioned, we'll deal with that the evening of if it even is a problem.

Linda Lee

I did not know this!! Definitely going to be there to get an early start on this.

I know the rules of running a restaurant, so the D&B reservation thing is understandable. But I'm sure the management wouldn't refuse in making more money, if we show up and want to buy more, they will try to do their best to accommodate us.

$15 isn't much as for reserving something, I would gladly pay for it in advance even if I didn't know my schedule for that day. However, I am bringing someone else; loosing $30 to a missed reservation is another story though.

The food for their parities is ordered 5-7 days ahead of time and shipped in, so they can't accommodate off the same menu.

However, if the manager OKs it when we're there, then any extra people will be able to order off the regular D&B menu.

Couple questions-
I have a 3 and a 2 year old. Can they come? If so, do I have to pay 15 for them too?

Also, if the boys CAN come, but Dennis is still out of town, can I bring by friend to help with the boys? She isn't going to eat, but I'll still pay for her. I just know that I can't handle both of those guys by myself and still socialize (and drive home).

There's a chance I can make it. Has a way to pay at the door been determined?
